어 보이 인 더 다크니스

옛날 어느 마을에 숲이 하나 있었다. 그 숲은 늘 어둠에 묻혀 있었는데, 마을 사람들은 그 숲 속에 흉측하게 생긴 아이가 살고 있어서 늘 어둠을 뿜어낸다고 믿고 있었다. 언젠가 마을도 어둠에 묻힐 것이라고 생각한 이들은 그 아이를 내쫓기로 결정하고 숲으로 들어간다. 하지만 그 숲 속의 아이는 흉측한 존재가 아닌 평범한 아이였고, 오히려 마을 사람들이 어둠을 뿜어내는 존재였다. (There is a small village. Near the village, there is a forest always buried in the darkness. People believe that there's a monster boy inside the forest, and that the boy exhales all the darkness. People are feared that one day their houses would be swallowed by the darkness. They decide to drive the monster boy out of the forest, and then go into the forest. But it turns out that the boy is not a monster, on the contrary, the villagers are the monsters which exhale the darkness.)  연출의도. 다수의 집단과 소수의 집단이 존재하는 사회에서, 사람들은 다수의 집단 입장에서 소수의 집단을 평가한다. 이러한 사회에서 소수의 집단은 더럽고 위험한 존재로 평가받게 된다. 우리가 살고 있는 이 사회에서 우리 역시 힘없고 불쌍한 집단을 다수의 입장에서 왜곡되게 바라보고 있지는 않은지 하는 생각에서 이 작품을 만들게 되었다. (In the society, there are majority group and minority group, and people usually evaluate the minority group in the position of the majority group. In this situation, the minority groups are usually evaluated into dirty and harmful existence. I made this film to think over that we also evaluate the minority group in the position of majority in this society, and we also evaluate the minority into harmful existence.)  제9회 부천국제학생애니메이션페스티벌 경쟁부문 (2007)
