돈, Cry For Me

하교길, 진수는 놀이터에서 장난감 모터카를 가지고 노는 아이들을 부러워한다. 터벅터벅 집으로 가던 진수는 우연히 차에 치일 뻔하고 아저씨로부터 돈을 받는다. 다시 놀이터로 간 진수, 아이들에게 먹을 것을 사주며 모터카를 만져볼 기회를 얻지만, 아이들은 곧 모터카를 빼앗는다. 마침내 진수는 장난감 자동차를 사기 위해 차에 뛰어드는데.... (On his way home from school, Jin-soo becomes envious of the other kids who are playing with their new toy cars. He is almost run over by a car and is paid off by the driver. Jin-soo decides to earn more money the only way he's learned how...)   연출의도. 이 영화는 장난감을 갖고 싶은 아이의 자연스러운 바램이 욕망으로 변질되어 가는 과정을 그리고 있다. 현대인의 가장 강렬한 내면풍경 중 하나는, 돈으로 집약되는, 무언가를 소유하고자 하는 욕망이다. 가치판단과 행동이 돈에 의한 문제해결과 소유욕으로 치닫는 이 씁쓸한 자화상은, 새로운 세기에도 변함없는 우리의 씁쓸한 뒷모습이다. (The film portrays a process of a child’s desire turning into something dreadful. One of our most powerful inner desires is related to the money -- the desire of possession. Value judgment and action are often following the logic of money and possession. It’s a rather sad self-portrait of us.)
