자웅동체의 불안

주유소 야간 주유원인 주인공은 일이 없는 시간에는, 월남전에서 팔을 잃었다고 주장하는 토큰가게 아저씨를 찾아가 노닥거린다. 그러던 중 토큰가게 아저씨가 극장 매표원 아가씨와의 불륜을 고백한다. 묘한 자극을 느낀 주인공은 매표원을 찾아가지만 냉대를 당할 뿐이다. 그는 공원으로 가서 이상한 환상을 목격하게 되는데...... 흔히 반대말로 취급되는 '남성성'과 '여성성'에 대한 전복적인 탐구. (He, a night worker at gas station, is neither male nor female. His only pal is a newsstand keeper on the street. Through the narrow hole of the stand, tells the guy in the stand interesting love affair he experienced. Finally he meets a girl in box office of theatre through a narrow hole again, but everything with sexes is obscure to him.)  연출의도. 흔히 반대말로 취급되는 '남성성'과 '여성성'에 대한 전복적인 탐구를 시도했다. 두 단어의 '확연한 구분'에서 비롯되는 근원적 모호성에 대한 인식 가능성을 탐지해보고 싶었다. 그러나Homo.Hetero의 이분법이 아닌 자신의 내부에 존재하는 이성을 통한 극복의 시도를 그려보려 했다. (The film is an attempt to subvert the notion of “male-ness” and “female-ness”. I wanted to find out if the ‘apparent division’ of the two words has created a fundamental ambiguity and if there is a possibility of overcoming it through a logical reasoning.)  제1회 괴산 영화 축제 작품상 수상작 (1999)
